My art practice is spatial and research-based. Artwork is the medium to activate space which gives audiences new angles to rediscover the site and its past. From my Reminiscence Series to my recent work Spatial Writing, I explored art forms which range from interactive installation to public art and site-specific video. These works are symbiosis with specific sites, and I spend a lot of time researching and conducting field observations. This helps me to gain deeper understanding of the place’s present and past and makes it clear to me that how to use the physical art form to interact with viewers effectively. By these means and working processes, my works act like connectors or converters which connect people with the place and also transform some obsolete and forgotten things into the contemporary.
